Cuckoos for company - Cervera de Pisuerga

Frost on the ground but pleasant walking conditions with  cuckoos keeping us company. A gentle ascent with the thrill of seeing a herd of 40 to 50 wild deer frolicking around - until they sensed us and silently melted into the forest. Some lovely mountain reflections in the reservoir and clean pretty villages where we actually saw people. Often the villages seem abandoned. Through a gorge with huge vultures soaring overhead and after 30 kms very glad to collapse in our pretty room. Rob impressed me with his Spanish, managed to phone and book a room for tomorrow.
