Hail in Tuesta

A rainy start to our 30km day, but thankfully it cleared. Some beaut track dotted with spring flowers, wild thyme and through European beech and native pine. Lovely stone villages and in Valpuesta a church which is a national monument,  and a beautiful half-timbered building. We accidentally tramped through a crop of barley - the farmer had sewn his plants right over the track!

We reckon we had at least 8 climbs today, so the cooler weather was welcome. But this evening we were glad to be housed as an endless thunderstorm rolled overhead and chucked big hailstones down.

A local hombre came and unlocked the magnificent church here for us, which was a special way to end our day.
