Rob's very proud of his bright new shoes. Definitely easy to follow. He found a huge vulture feather near an old abandoned village, Rubies.
It was a massive climb of over 1000 metres up to Rubies through steep rocky terrain and we were both on the edge of our comfort zones - no nice reassuring handrails on this track. Lovely high meadows and then a long downhill on a remarkable road built under huge cliffs.
In Vilanova de Meia we had a whole apartment with a washing machine, so we washed our clothes for free!! Our hosts run the supermarket, provide accommodation and have a taxi service. We availed ourselves of the lot. In the nearby restaurant we had a delicious meal, so all in all a great day.
